Frequently Asked Questions

What devices does Daytripper support?
Daytripper requires iOS 26 or later. AI-powered features (smart titles, trip descriptions, stop refinement) require iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or any device with an A17 Pro chip or later. The app works on older supported devices using a template-based fallback.
Does Daytripper need an internet connection?
An internet connection is needed to search for places (MapKit) and fetch weather forecasts (WeatherKit). Once trips are generated, they're saved on your device and available offline. The AI runs entirely on-device — no cloud processing.
Why don't I see weather forecasts?
Weather forecasts require WeatherKit, which is included with the Apple Developer Program. If you're not seeing weather data, it will appear once the app is distributed through the App Store with proper entitlements.
How do I change my home location?
Tap the location icon in the top-right corner of the Explore screen. You can search for a place, tap the map to drop a pin, or use your current GPS location.
Can I edit a trip after it's generated?
Yes! Open any trip and tap "Edit" in the Itinerary section. You can delete stops, add new ones, or tap any stop to edit its details. Use the "Refine" button to ask the AI for a different suggestion — like swapping a Korean restaurant for BBQ.
What does "Surprise Me" do?
Surprise Me picks random interests and generates a single curated trip based on your drive time. It's for when you have no plan and just want to escape.
Is my data private?
Completely. Daytripper has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything — your location, preferences, saved trips, and AI processing — stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I get a refund?
Daytripper is sold through the App Store. Refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I add a trip to my calendar?
Open a trip, scroll down, and tap "Add to Calendar." Pick a date and each stop will be added as a separate calendar event with the correct time, duration, and location.
The app suggested a place that's closed or doesn't exist.
Place data comes from Apple Maps. If a venue is incorrect, you can report it directly in Apple Maps, or use the "Refine" button in Daytripper to swap it for something else. Tap "Details" on any stop to see live hours and info from Apple.
